Amazing news for GINKO: the ADI permanent design observatory has selected our IKONA Slide for publication in the ADI Design Index 2022, the first volume of the biennial cycle that collects the products eligible for the famous ADI Compasso d’Oro Award 2024.
For us, this is a milestone of the utmost importance, which recognizes our product’s aesthetic quality and design excellence and associates it with an award linked to a prestigious international recognition such as the Compasso d’Oro. Conceived in 1954 by “La Rinascente” and managed by ADI since 1956, the Compasso d’Oro represents the most authoritative and influential award relating to the planning and production quality of Italian design processes, systems, goods and services. This prestigious award has also led to the birth of the most extensive historical design collection – declared in 2004 “asset of national interest”.
Since 2009, the ADI Design Index has also become an annual selection for the so-called “Prize of Prizes“, i.e., the National Prize for Innovation, sponsored by the Presidency of the Italian Republic and involving three significant products from the innovation standard.
These products are selected from those published on the ADI Design Index, which this year also includes our IKONA Slide.
What is IKONA Slide, the product selected for the ADI Design Index 2022
IKONA Slide is the name that GINKO has given to its line of sliding French armored windows – the first on the market to be characterized by a powerfully minimalist style.
Our patented system with stainless steel armor is already considered a reference point in the passive security industry. It stands out for the synergy between product originality, style and innovation: a standard of excellence that will undoubtedly also guide the development of new solutions.
The central node of IKONA Slide is particularly noteworthy: in just 3.5 centimeters, we obtained the RC4 anti-burglary degree, a goal that no sliding window – let alone panoramic – had ever achieved.
In terms of applications, IKONA Slide represents a top-of-the-range solution, carefully designed to create large windows and support doors with a capacity of up to 1000 kilograms thanks to its innovative double-track system. It is available in two different versions – with single or double sliding doors – and is the ideal choice for recessed masonry openings, enhancing its extraordinary minimal design.

ADI Design Index 2022: the presentation at the ADI Design Museum in Milan h2
The 2022 selection of the ADI Design Index was presented on November 14 at 5.00 pm at the ADI Design Museum in Piazza Compasso d’Oro, 1 in Milan. Following the event, this edition’s exhibition was opened to the public.
