Goals

The goal was to integrate an advanced passive security solution within an unconventional spatial configuration, where the anti-burglary door serves both as a protective barrier and as an exposed architectural element subject to outdoor conditions. The main challenge was to combine protection, aesthetics and top-level technical performance in an outdoor setting, ensuring visual lightness, accessibility and seamless continuity between interior and exterior spaces.

In one of the sleek high-rises that define the skyline of modern Shenzhen, at the heart of China’s most dynamic urban area, GINKO participated in an architectural project that reinterprets the very concept of passive security in an unexpected way.

On the fourteenth floor of this luxury residential tower, the featured penthouse presents a distinctive entrance: not from the typical corridor or stairwell, but from a large outdoor terrace overlooking the city. To ensure passive protection and aesthetic harmony in such an unconventional configuration, the architects selected INVISIO Pivot, the GINKO anti-burglary door designed to become an elegant and impenetrable mobile wall.

As the true focal point of the entrance, the GINKO security door integrates effortlessly into the architectural language of this futuristic metropolis thanks to its refined solid wood panel with horizontal slats, evoking a dialogue between natural materials – essential in traditional East Asian culture — and the dense urban landscape.

The addition of an electromechanical lock provides further protection and comfort, enabling smooth and secure access.

Thanks to the innovative FritsJurgens pivot system – a concealed, high-performance hinge mechanism – the large panel opens with fluid elegance, further enhancing the user’s daily interaction with the space.

The project was carried out in collaboration with long-term local partner AOSHEN VOLCANO, with whom GINKO has been bringing Italian design and technical excellence to prestigious international settings for years. The result is a security door that is both a passive barrier and a design and architectural statement, designed to reshape the very experience of contemporary living.

INVISIO Pivot proves once again to be the ideal solution for high-end projects that demand maximum protection, essential aesthetics and sheer compositional freedom.

“We were looking for a security solution that didn’t feel like a barrier, but an integral part of the architectural experience. With INVISIO Pivot, we found the perfect balance between lightness, technology and design. It’s a door, but also a symbol of openness toward the city.”
