Today, as in the beginning, a deep passion for passive security and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction make GINKO a benchmark at the international level in developing high-security and bulletproof frames designed to meet the highest expectations for both protection and aesthetics.

The evolution of Italian excellence in passive security

1989

The origins

GINKO’s story begins with the acquisition of All System Srl, a company specializing in the production of aluminum window and door systems. What started as a solid foundation quickly evolved into a visionary project.

1992 / 1994

A revolutionary idea

Research soon focused on enhancing security in the window and door industry: in 1992, studies began on the development of a burglar-resistant aluminum shutter.

1995 / 1999

Specialization in security

The company expands production, complementing its security shutter line with new passive security systems. In 1999, GINKO files a patent for the PRT70, the first aluminum security door certified to Class 4, an innovation that sets the stage for countless new applications.

2000 / 2005

The birth of GINKO

All System Srl decides to focus exclusively on designing and producing armored shutters and security doors. In 2002, the company files a patent for another flagship product: ATENA 110, the first aluminum window with a thermal break to offer anti-burglary and bullet-resistant performance.

In 2005, the company moves to its new headquarters in Origgio and officially becomes GINKO Srl, a name destined to become synonymous with passive security and innovation in the window and door sector.

2014

A new generation and a new vision for the future

GINKO continues to evolve, passing to the second generation with an even more ambitious outlook. It changes its name to GINKO Safe Design Srl, reaffirming its commitment to blending high-level design with advanced passive protection.

In the same year, the company files a new patent for INVISIO, the first aluminum security door with anti-burglary and bullet-resistant features featuring a sleek, minimalist aesthetic that redefines architectural security.

2016 / 2019

Expanding the range of high-security solutions

Ongoing investments in Research and Development lead to the creation of the IKONA and IKONA Wood series, the first minimalist-design, customizable security windows designed to enhance high-end architectural projects.

In 2019, GINKO further advances the INVISIO line by launching the new Pivot version, featuring pivot-opening functionality for even greater performance and flexibility.

2020 / 2021

GINKO innovation earns international design acclaim

After five years of development, GINKO unveils IKONA Slide: it’s the first certified panoramic sliding security system that combines unprecedented protection with ultra-minimalist design. Its success is immediate: in 2021, IKONA Slide receives the prestigious Archiproducts Design Award in the “Building Envelope” category.

2022 / 2023

International recognition in design and security

The ADI Permanent Observatory of Design selects IKONA Slide for the 2022 ADI Design Index, the first step toward eligibility for the 2024 Compasso d’Oro.

Meanwhile, GINKO continues to push the limits of passive protection: INVISIO PLUS GLASS successfully passes the toughest ballistic tests, earning FB6/NS certification (3300J) and ranking among the most secure armored doors available on the market.

2024

GINKO’s commitment to certified quality

The company reaches another milestone by achieving ISO 9001 certification, confirming the quality of its production processes for manufacturing metal doors, windows, frames, shutters and gates. This achievement further affirms GINKO’s excellence in high-security window and door systems.

To crown this journey, IKONA Slide is featured in a special temporary exhibition at the ADI Design Museum, inspired by the most recent edition of the Compasso d’Oro, further solidifying GINKO’s international prestige.
